Depending on the weather, area, and geographic location, solar and wind energy are complementary. Creating a hybrid system (solar-wind) that utilizes the most favorable natural condition at any given time represents the essence of renewable energy efficiency. The wind-solar hybrid system (Wind Solar Hybrid - WSH) is the best (complete, efficient, versatile, economic, advantageous) system for supplying electricity, either totally or partially independent of local/national resources.
WSH is a system for generating electricity that fully uses Wind Energy (WE) and Solar Energy (SE).
The results are widely used in regions without electricity or with frequent power outages, for street lighting, residential areas, communication stations, on islands, border settlements, and so on. It can power televisions, DVDs, computers, refrigerators, and other household or even industrial-agricultural devices. The system combines two types of ecological energy, wind and solar energy, taking into account environmental protection and energy conservation. The wind-solar combination can produce more energy. The system is easy to install, with low maintenance costs.
The WSH system is more efficient than the traditional solar generation system (photovoltaic) in ensuring a stable electricity supply, and it is ideal as a new power source for homes.
Operating Principle
WSH consists mainly of a small wind turbine, photovoltaic solar panels, a complementary “wind-sun” control device, a voltage converter-inverter, and storage batteries. Under the controller's command, during the day, the solar panels charge the batteries, while the wind turbine can operate and generate energy if the wind blows. The inverter converts direct current into alternating current (220V), ideal for powering electrical devices. Excess energy is stored in the batteries.
At night, due to significant temperature differences, the wind is stronger, and the turbine continues to produce. If the wind does not blow at all, the stored energy in the batteries is used. Thanks to the controller, which monitors charging and discharging, whether there is wind or sunlight, and on cloudy days, the battery is protected from both overcharging and deep discharge (which would cause premature wear). This ensures a long service life.
